SOLAR CONTROL WINDOW FILM

SOLAR CONTROL, ANTI GLARE, HEAT REDUCTION, INSULATION & THERMAL WINDOW FILMS

SolarGuard supplies and install a range of high performance solar control window films which can dramatically reduce solar heat gain and control glare.

Solar energy enters the buildings through windows as radiated heat, light and glare, the installation of Solar control film can provide a highly effective barrier. Solar control window films reject a high percentage of solar heat and glare whilst allowing light to pass through, making the installation of solar control films to existing glazing a highly cost efficient way to control temperatures and glare.

There are a large variety of solar control window films available which are designed to reduce the build-up of heat within a building. Solar films can vary in appearance and performance and are available in a wide variety of finishes, from reflective mirrored effects and tinted films to clear films which are virtually undetectable.

It is the employer’s responsibility to provide a comfortable working environment according to current Health & Safety and Display Screen Equipment Regulations. The effectiveness and productivity of staff can be greatly affected when subjected to high temperature and glare. Heat fatigue, eye-strain, headaches and migraine are all symptoms of inadequate solar control. The installation of solar control film can dramatically help.

SolarGuard offer a range of UV reducing films which offers added protection against harmful UV rays. Exposure to direct sunlight can cause many colored or painted materials to fade. Damage due to fading is caused by UV light, visible light, heat (including infra-red light), artificial lighting, humidity and poor dye anchorage. UV light, visible light and heat account for 90% of fading.

SolarGuard also provide energy efficiency surveys to help illustrate the potential cost and energy savings that can be made with the application of solar control film. With the current push to reduce energy usage within buildings solar control film can dramatically reduce excess heat and energy transmitted into a building by up to 80%. It takes three times more energy to cool a building and its fabric compared to heating it.

SolarGuard also provide a range of external films which are particularly suitable for roof-skylights. The films transform glass or polycarbonate into an effective solar shield during the summer. Films are laminated directly on to glazing, reducing solar heat gain and glare, providing privacy, security, safety, fade-reduction and microwave rejection. The latest generation of external films incorporates a revolutionary self-healing property to protect the film’s surface. Kynar polymer protects the film from UV degradation, extending the film’s life.

ARE YOU THROWING DOLLARS OUT THE WINDOW IN THE WINTER?

Thermal Window Film is an ideal way to improve the thermal efficiency of windows. Thermal window film can be installed to existing glazing to reduce heat loss by reflecting heat back to the source. These products are also known as emissivity window films, contain a special coating which reflect radiant heat.

SolarGuard offers a range of Low E Insulation and Thermal Window films which are designed to reduce heat loss through glass by up to 30%. Low E insulation an thermal films also offer the benefits of the solar control films by reducing excess heat gain and glare. Low E insulation and thermal films are particularly useful on single glazing and can also add additional performance to existing double glazed units.
